The Irregular Past Song

THE IRREGULAR PAST SONG

I bought a bag of apples
I ate one that was round

I gave one to my brother

He threw it on the ground

I went into the kitchen

I saw a bowl of eggs

I built a big egg pyramid

Then they all broke on my legs

Normally with past tense verbs
You add an "e" and "d"

But with these irregulars

They change differently

Today I found my bathing suit

I knew that I should play

So I rode to the river

And I swam around all day

I caught a big green frog today

I brought it home to view

My mom stood up and ran away

My dad made frog leg stew

I got thirsty this morning

So I took off to the store

I drank a salty yogurt drink

Then I chose to drink some more

I sang a song to my momma

I thought that she might weep

She sat down to listen

And then she fell asleep
